1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Job Application Tracker ("we", "our", "the service", "the application"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access and use of our web application and Chrome extension for browsers (collectively, the "Service").

By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these terms, then you may not access the Service.

Important: By using our Service, you also agree to our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

2. Service Description

Job Application Tracker is a web application and Chrome extension that allows you to:

  • Manage and track your job applications
  • Organize information about job opportunities
  • Capture job information from websites such as LinkedIn, Greenhouse, and AshbyHQ
  • Optionally sync your data with Google Sheets
  • Visualize your applications in different formats (table, timeline, kanban, calendar)

The Service is provided "as is" and may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time without prior notice.

3. Eligibility and Accounts

3.1. Age Requirements

You must be at least 13 years old to use this Service. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use the Service.

3.2. Google Account

To use certain features of the Service, such as synchronization with Google Sheets, you must authenticate using your Google account through Google OAuth. By doing so, you:

  • Warrant that you have authority to link your Google account to the Service
  • Are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Google account
  • Accept Google's policies and terms of service
  • Acknowledge that we may access your Google account only for functions you explicitly authorize

3.3. Account Responsibility

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You are prohibited from:

  • Using the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Violating any applicable law, regulation, or rule
  • Infringing or violating the intellectual property rights of others
  • Transmitting any virus, malware, or malicious code
  • Attempting unauthorized access to any part of the Service or related systems
  • Interfering with or disrupting the Service or servers connected to the Service
  • Using the Service to send spam, unsolicited emails, or commercial communications
  • Collecting or storing personal information of other users without their consent
  • Using robots, scripts, or automated methods to access the Service without authorization
  • Reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling any part of the Service

Warning: Violation of these terms may result in immediate termination of your access to the Service without prior notice.

5. Integration with Google Services

5.1. Google OAuth

The Service uses Google OAuth for authentication. By using this feature, you:

  • Accept Google's Terms of Service
  • Acknowledge that Google may receive information about your use of the Service
  • Authorize the Service to access your basic Google profile information
  • May revoke access at any time from your Google account settings

5.2. Google Sheets API

If you choose to use the Google Sheets synchronization feature:

  • You authorize the Service to create, read, and update spreadsheets in your Google Drive account
  • You acknowledge that your data will be stored in your own Google Drive account
  • You are responsible for managing access and permissions of created spreadsheets
  • You may disable synchronization at any time
  • You accept that use of Google Sheets is subject to Google's limits and policies

Note: Synchronization with Google Sheets is completely optional. You may use the Service without this feature.

5.3. Gmail API (Optional)

If you choose to use the Gmail Scan feature:

  • You authorize the Service to read emails from your Gmail account for the purpose of identifying job application-related content
  • You acknowledge that email content is processed locally in your browser and is NOT stored on our servers
  • You understand that the Service only accesses emails when you explicitly initiate a scan
  • You may revoke Gmail access at any time from your Google Account settings
  • You accept that use of Gmail API is subject to Google's API Services User Data Policy

Important: The Gmail Scan feature is completely optional. Using this feature does not grant the Service permission to send, modify, or delete emails.

6. Google API Services Compliance

Our use of Google API Services, including the Gmail API and Google Sheets API, complies with Google's API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements:

  • Gmail Data: Any Gmail data we access is processed only to provide the Gmail Scan feature that helps you track job applications. This data is processed locally in your browser and is never transmitted to our servers or stored persistently.
  • No Human Access: We do not allow human access to your Gmail data except as necessary to provide the Service and only with your explicit consent.
  • No Advertising: We do not use Gmail data for serving advertisements.
  • No Sale of Data: We do not sell or share your Gmail data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
  • No Data Mining: We do not use Gmail data for data mining, data reselling, or building user profiles beyond what is necessary to provide the Service.

Important: You can review and revoke our access to your Google account at any time by visiting myaccount.google.com/permissions.

7. User Data and Ownership

6.1. Your Data

You retain all ownership rights to the data you enter into the Service. Your job application data, opportunities, and preferences are yours.

6.2. Data Storage

Your data is stored primarily on your device using browser localStorage. This means that:

  • Your data remains under your control
  • You can export or delete your data at any time
  • If you clear your browser storage, your data may be lost
  • We recommend making periodic backups of your data

6.3. License to Use Your Data

By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, revocable, and non-sublicensable license to:

  • Process and store your data to provide the Service
  • Improve and maintain the Service
  • Perform aggregated and anonymous analysis (without personally identifying you)

This license terminates when you delete your data or stop using the Service.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1. Our Content

The Service, including its design, source code, features, logos, trademarks, and content, is the property of Job Application Tracker and is protected by intellectual property laws.

7.2. Third-Party Software

The Service may use open-source software and third-party libraries. These components are subject to their own licenses, which may be available in the project repository.

7.3. Restrictions

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or rent any part of the Service without our explicit written permission.

8. Service Availability

We strive to keep the Service available and functioning properly, but:

  • We do not guarantee that the Service will be available uninterrupted or error-free
  • We may perform scheduled or emergency maintenance resulting in downtime
  • We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time
  • We are not responsible for any data loss due to technical issues

Recommendation: We recommend making periodic backups of your data, especially if you use optional synchronization features.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:

  • THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND
  • WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, SECURE, ERROR-FREE, OR UNINTERRUPTED
  • WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE
  • WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR LOSS OF DATA, INFORMATION, OR BENEFITS
  • OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID FOR THE SERVICE (IF APPLICABLE) OR $0 IF THE SERVICE IS FREE

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties or the limitation of liability for incidental damages, so some of the limitations above may not apply to you.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Job Application Tracker, its affiliates, directors, employees, and agents from any claim, liability, damage, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Any content or data you provide to the Service

11. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.

Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you must stop using the Service.

12. Termination

12.1. Termination by You

You may stop using the Service at any time. You may delete your data by clearing your browser's local storage or uninstalling the Chrome extension.

12.2. Termination by Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without cause or prior notice, for any reason, including but not limited to:

  • Violation of these Terms
  • Fraudulent or abusive use of the Service
  • Illegal activity
  • Prolonged inactivity

12.3. Effects of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately. Your data may be deleted according to our data retention policies.

13. Third-Party Services

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by us. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of third-party websites or services.

You acknowledge and agree that we will not be responsible, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with the use of any content, goods, or services available on or through such websites or services.

14. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the country where the Service is operated, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the competent courts of the corresponding jurisdiction.

15. General Provisions

15.1. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Job Application Tracker regarding the use of the Service.

15.2. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

15.3. Waiver

Our failure to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.

15.4. Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction.

3. Elegibilidad y Cuentas

3.1. Requisitos de Edad

Debe tener al menos 13 años de edad para utilizar este Servicio. Si tiene menos de 18 años, debe tener el permiso de un padre o tutor legal para utilizar el Servicio.

3.2. Cuenta de Google

Para utilizar ciertas funciones del Servicio, como la sincronización con Google Sheets, debe autenticarse utilizando su cuenta de Google mediante Google OAuth. Al hacerlo, usted:

  • Garantiza que tiene autoridad para vincular su cuenta de Google al Servicio
  • Es responsable de mantener la confidencialidad de su cuenta de Google

5. Integración con Google Services

5.1. Google OAuth

El Servicio utiliza Google OAuth para autenticación. Al utilizar esta función, usted:

  • Autoriza al Servicio a acceder a su información básica de perfil de Google

5.2. Google Sheets API

5.3. Gmail API (Opcional)

Si elige utilizar la función de Escaneo de Gmail:

  • Autoriza al Servicio a leer correos de su cuenta de Gmail con el propósito de identificar contenido relacionado con aplicaciones de empleo
  • Reconoce que el contenido de los correos se procesa localmente en su navegador y NO se almacena en nuestros servidores
  • Entiende que el Servicio solo accede a los correos cuando usted inicia explícitamente un escaneo
  • Puede revocar el acceso a Gmail en cualquier momento desde la configuración de su Cuenta de Google
  • Acepta que el uso de Gmail API está sujeto a la Política de Datos de Usuario de Servicios API de Google

Importante: La función de Escaneo de Gmail es completamente opcional. Usar esta función no otorga al Servicio permiso para enviar, modificar o eliminar correos.

6. Cumplimiento de Servicios API de Google

7. Datos del Usuario y Propiedad

8. Disponibilidad del Servicio

10. Indemnización
